College Football Power Rankings (Week Six)

Who doesn’t love college football’s top 25? Starting this week, I will post my personal top 25. The top 25 is a subject of constant debate and dispute. Have a problem with my rankings? Tell me in the comments. Here is the very first College Football Rankings in College Sports Town history:

1. Alabama
The Crimson Tide have yet to see a real test (Michigan was supposed to be one).

2. LSU
The Tigers will be tested in back-to-back weeks against Florida and South Carolina.

3. Florida State
The ‘Noles are playing really good football right now.

4. Oregon
The Ducks still have the most intimidating offense in the country.

5.South Carolina
The Gamecocks should not be dismissed as legitimate National Title contenders.

6. Georgia
Neither should Georgia, whose offense more than makes up for a struggling defense.

7. Kansas State
K-State might be the most complete football team in the nation.

8. Florida
The Gators had a bye to prepare for LSU.

9. Notre Dame
The offense still isn’t were it should be, but the defense is tremendous. The Irish have a tough road ahead, but I expect them to keep winning ugly.

10. Clemson
The star-laden Tigers are explosive.

11. Oklahoma
The Sooners are very good but can’t let the loss to K-State send them into a slump.

12. West Virginia
Their offense is still inconsistent, but when its on, look out.

13. Oregon State
The Beavers, who already have won as many games as last season, are a great story. Still, I sense they will stub their toe soon.

14. Mississippi State
Mississippi State seem to be flying under the radar somewhat and, after last season’s disappointment, that is probably a good thing.

15. Ohio State
The Buckeyes are rising to the top of the struggling Big Ten.

16. Texas
The Longhorns are getting the job done thus far.

17. USC
The Trojans had their flaws exposed against Stanford, but are still in store for a good season.

18. Northwestern
The key for Northwestern: a much improved defense.

19. Washington
Keith Price is quietly one of the best players in the country.

20. Stanford
The Cardinal will go as far their defense takes them.

21. Louisville
The 5-0 Cardinals have not played very well the past couple of weeks but their talent is undeniable.

22. Rutgers
Rutgers fans have to be excited it about this team. It should wind up being one of their best ever.

23. TCU
The Horned Frogs have beaten up on some crummy teams. With a back loaded schedule, they can expect more winning in the near future.

24. Miami
The Hurricanes look like the team to beat in the ACC Coastal division.

25. Texas A&M
The Aggies have been energized by new coach Kevin Sumlin
