College Football Power Rankings (Week Ten)

1. (Last week: 1) Alabama
The Tide make good teams look incompetent.

2. (2) Oregon
The Ducks scored 70 yesterday.

3. (3) Kansas State
K-State crushed Texas Tech.

4. (5) Notre Dame
Everyone talks about their defense, but the Irish controlled the game against Oklahoma with their offense.

5. (7) LSU
The Tigers had a week off to prepare for Alabama.

6. (8) Florida State
The Seminoles have a tough road game against Virginia Tech coming up on a Thursday night. Thursday night games at Lane Stadium are always tough.

7. (16) Georgia
Georgia’s defense came up big in a win over Florida.

8.  (9) Clemson
The Tigers took it to Wake Forest on Thursday night.

9. (13) Ohio State
The Buckeyes looked sharp against Penn State.

10. (4) Florida
The Gators have three extremely winnable games before facing FSU.

11.  (6) Oklahoma
The Sooners had a tough time getting Notre Dame off the field last night.

12. (14) Louisville
The Cardinals needed overtime to beat Cincinnati and stay undefeated.

13. (15) South Carolina
The Gamecocks beat Tennessee but lost Marcus Lattimore to a gruesome leg injury that calls Lattimore’s football future into question.

14. (19) Stanford
The Cardinal have a chance to get some more momentum against Colorado going into a two game stretch of games against Oregon State and Oregon.

15. (22) Texas A&M
The Aggies routed Auburn 63-21.

16. (10) Oregon State
The Beavers lost to Washington.

17. (11) USC
The Trojans still have yet to beat anyone that good. They have a chance coming up vs. Oregon.

18. (12) Mississippi State
They were not up to the challenge of playing at Alabama.

19. (25) Nebraska
Nebraska grabbed a huge win over Michigan.

20. (23) Toledo
The Rockets, whose lone loss came against Arizona in overtime, have a big game coming up against Ball State.

21. (24) Boise State
The Broncos had a good offensive showing against Wyoming.

22. (20) Texas Tech
There are worse things than losing to Kansas State.

23. (Not ranked) Arizona
Arizona’s offense shined in the win over USC.

24. (NR) Kent State
Kent State beat Rutgers convincingly.

25. (NR) Northwestern
The Cats plays their next two games in the state of Michigan.
