College Hoops Picks 1/4

With college football bowl season coming to a close, the eyes of college sports nation can finally turn 100% of their attention to basketball, where conference play is starting in several conferences. Here are my picks for some of this weekend’s biggest games.

Duke 73, Wake Forest 64: Duke doesn’t lose at home. But Wake has been playing better, so I doubt it will be a total route.

Kansas State 66, Oklahoma State 63: K-State is figuring it out under Bruce Weber.

Ohio State 74, Illinois 69: Illinois is at home, but Ohio State is simply the better team right now.

Bucknell 75, Missouri 72: My upset of the weekend. I expect an extremely efficient Bucknell team to stun Mizzou.

Cincinnati 61, St. John’s 55: The Bearcats will get by the athletic, but young, Red Storm.

South Florida 67, Syracuse 55: Two of the nation’s top defenses will go toe-to-toe. I like the home team. Call this my second upset of the weekend.

Michigan 85, Iowa 72: Did you see what Michigan did to Northwestern?

Minnesota 84, Northwestern 66: Did you see what Michigan did to Northwestern?

Kansas 84, Temple 77: Temple is clearly very good, but Kansas just has too many weapons.

Happy viewing!
